There’s heavy pruning and there is straight up beheading

Well, pruning short and pruning out of existence is maybe a few inches away from each other. You probably killed them.

Oh man, were there even any leaves on it after the pruning?
theegreenman
You expected those to live after that?

Heavy pruning.. That’s kind of an understatement..
ilikemyusername1
Jeezus, were they pruned by squirrels?
deckartcain
Dead or not doesn’t matter as much as still having potential sites for new growth to appear. You cut them waaaaaaay to far down.

Sorry about the chilli. At least you live and learn. I never give up until certain though. Good luck

Pruning? You killed them!
kroketspeciaal
You call it pruning. FBI call it 1st degree murder.

OP raising their sword to prune: “There can be only one.”

You cut them wayyy too short but they would probably still grow. Unless they died for another reason. See my plant grow back after cutting it to a small stick

Heavy?? They were decapitated why go so low
Where did you learn to prune? Are you a butcher by trade?
This is what i do to my annuals come winter
Next up, “I dug up my peppers and burned them in the fire pit, why haven’t they started growing back yet?”
The fact you had to circle them says enough

“Heavy Pruning”
Pruning Theoretical Phenomenon strikes again, your peppers have been erased as a possibility
Well, if anyone on the subreddit ever asks, “Did you try pruning it?”…
